Nord-lock washers
Nord-Lock's original washers consist of a pair of interlocking tooth washers, one with a wedge flank and the other with radial tines. It uses a wedge-tooth geometry to prevent bolts from loosening due to vibration.
Think of a bolt as a spring, and turning the fastener during tightening stretches the bolt like a spring, creating a clamping force that holds the parts together. If the bolt tries to rotate loose, Nord-Lock brand washers stop the bolt from loosening by increasing the clamping force.

How it works
When tightening the fastener, the wedge teeth are locked, while the radial tines on the outer surface of the washer bite the fastener and the clamped part and form a clear imprint mark on the fastener and the clamped part. The bolts create a clamping force that locks the part in place.
Because the wedge angle 'α' is greater than the thread lift angle 'β', the wedge locking effect prevents the fastener from rotating loosening, even in the harshest conditions
